Shen Girls Lose
The Shenendehowa Lady Plainsmen fought back from a 13 point second half deficit but came up short in a 48-42 loss to Corcoran(III) in the girls class AA regional finals at Hudson Valley on Saturday. Corcoran's three-point shooting was the difference as the Cougars made six three-pointers in the game. Three on back-to-back-to-back possesions in the first quarter to build an early lead. Then with 43 seconds in the fourth quarter Corcoran sophomore Nadia Jackson hit the biggest one of the day a high archer from the right corner to put the Cougar lead at eight and secure the victory.
Carey Turner led Shenendehowa with 11 points and Barb Shea eight.
Corcoran advances to the state final four next Saturday at Hudson Valley Community College.
