What's Going On With High School Recruiting?

Pretty interesting discussion on Big Board radio the last few days, I'm not sure if anyone else was tuned in.

What is your opinion on high school recruiting?

Look at the top four teams left in class AA/A boys basketball - CBA, Maginn, Academy, Gibbons. (Catholic High had a great year too - but what happened at La Salle?)
All private schools. Just a coincidence or something to expect in the future?
Since the private schools do not have a district with boundaries that caps their pool of players - the private schools will always have that advantage to pull great athletes from the entire area.
On the other hand, the public schools typically have a team that has been playing together for ten years, through youth leagues and JV teams.
Let's not forget about AAU teams too.
Does either side have an advantage or was this just a one-year anomaly?

It is important to note that this is not isolated to basketball or the private schools. The public schools (or players' parents) also find a way to bend the rules to make sure their children get to play on a particular team. Remember that story about the Burnt Hills soccer player from Galway? Saratoga cross-country and track? Don't forget the Lansingburgh football controversy at the end of the season in 2007.

It is hard to imagine a feasible solution to clamp down on recruiting efforts by coaches and maniacal parents. Certainly, punishing the kids won't work - all they want to do is play.
Is it possible to install a set of rules to allow administrators make a Kelvin Sampson-esque decision and suspend a coach?
Perhaps you think there nothing at all wrong with what is going on right now.
