Hoosic Valley Girls Win
Hoosic Valley 41, Ogdensburg 32: Behind an 18 point fourth quarter effort the Indians (26-0) secured a win in the class B regional finals in Potsdam and earned a spot in the New York State Championships final four for the second straight year.
Hoosic Valley trailed 25-23 heading into the final frame but the Indian's trademark defense went to work and held Ogdensburg to just seven points.
The Indians are the only section II girls team to make it to the state tournament next weekend at Hudson Valley Community College.
Section II class B tournament MVP Kayla Ryan led all scorers with 17 points and Carolyn Houston had 15 for Hoosic Valley.
The Indians will put their perfect record on the line against Nazareth Academy (20-2) of section V on Friday, March 14 at Hudson Valley Community College. Tip-off is 11:45a.m.
The Indians are the second-ranked class B team in the state and Nazareth is ranked third.
