PHILADELPHIA - Troy High had an eventful day at the Penn Relays on Thursday.
The Flying Horses’ 1,600-meter relay team of Jenette Williams, Alexis Jordan, Courtney Avery and Bianca Jordan set a school record for the event with a finish of 4:05.6 in open heat competition at the Penn Relays.
Also for Troy, the 400 relay squad of Mary Pattison, Alexis Jordan, Chaniece Brown and Bianca Jordan finished in 53.01 seconds to take third place in their heat.

The New York Sportswriters Association sends us a newsletter every week and this week's edition included all of the 60-point scorers in New York State high school boys basketball history.

The all-time leader? Peru's Chuck Kinney scored 98 points in a game during the 1954-55 season.

The game certainly has changed over the years, widening the lane and adding a three-point stripe, not to mention the way officials call a game these days. Section II players have only broken the 60-point barrier twice in the modern era and both happened in the Central Hudson Valley League. There are plenty of tiny little gyms in the CHVL where players don't need to do a lot of running, just simply turn around to shift from offense to defense.

Will anyone ever score 60 points or more in a Section II game again?
