Local roundup, Sept. 9, 2010

(Throughout the fall season, I'll be posting the local roundup as soon as it starts to trickle in every night. It will be updated as we received more scores).
The Record

COLONIE -- Giacomo Giglio scored two goals for the Catholic Central High School boys soccer team in a 7-1 Big 10 Conference victory over Christian Brothers Academy on Thursday afternoon.
Brett Fenton added a goal for Catholic Central, which put 22 shots on net in the victory.
Joey Klinowski, Zac Ethier, Sydney Rebne and Tyler Hickey also scored a goal for the Crusaders.
Lansingburgh 4, Fonda-Fultonville 0: Kennedy Gonzalez scored on a header from a Tyler Jarosz throw-in to start off the scoring for Lansingburgh in a Colonial Council victory over the Braves.
Chris Lance, Larenz Devaren and Connor Saxby rounded out the scoring for the Knights. Goalkeeper Jarrod Jarosz made five saves to preserve the shutout.
Loudonville Christian 2, Argyle 1 (OT): Leo Pusatere scored in the 84th minute on a pass from Aaron Film as the Eagles won a non-league game.
Pusatere had assisted on Eric Hudspath’s equalizing goal in the 46th minute.
Girls Volleyball
Loudonville Christian 3, Catholic Central 2: Hattie Burgher smashed 21 kills and added 37 digs for the Eagles in a non-league victory over the Crusaders by scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-18, 23-25 and 25-23.
Loudonville’s Alex Rollis added 24 digs and 21 service points and Samantha Parry contributed with nine kills.
Girls Tennis
Emma Willard 8, Maple Hill 1: The Jesters posted a big non-league victory over the Wildcats.
Boys Golf
Hoosick Falls 3.5, Hoosic Valley 1.5: Jordan Colvin’s round of 39 at Hoosick Falls Country Club lifted the Panthers to a Wasaren League victory.
Kevin White paced the Indians with a low round of 40.
Stillwater 4, Cambridge 1: Stillwater’s Connor Jones shot a low round of 40 at Windy Hills Golf Course, leading the Warriors to a Wasaren League victory over the Indians.
Chris Crucetti paced Cambridge with a score of 42.
La Salle,166, Catholic Central 179, Troy 180: Michael Hope led the Cadets to a victory at Frear Park on Thursday.
Hope fired a 39, while Catholic Central’s Corey Purcell and Troy’s Blaise Kearns each fired 38’s.
Football
Lake George 14, Corinth 13: The Warriors (1-1, 1-1) edged the Tomahawks (0-2, 0-2) in a special Thursday night Class C North Division clash.
Colleges
Field Hockey
Siena 1, Holy Cross 0: Michaela Sullivan scored a second half goal to lead Siena (1-3) to its first victory of the season, a non-league triumph over Holy Cross (0-3).
Beth Meyers made six saves in net to preserve the shutout for the Saints.
Men’s Soccer
Hudson Valley Community College 2, Albany College of Pharmacy 1: Miguel Pinto and Andrew Mattot scored goals for the Vikings (1-1) in a victory over Albany Pharmacy.
From Wednesday
Girls Soccer
Troy 3, Gloversville 2: Liisi Vink lainas, Morgan Avery and Helen Dufel scored one goal apiece - Amanda Livolsi chipped in with a pair of assists - as the Flying Horses topped Gloversville in non-league action Wednesday evening.
