Two former Dodgers making news in the bigs
Two former South Troy Dodgers are making news in the major leagues.
Casper Wells, who played his high school baseball at Schenectady, made his Major League debut Saturday night for the Detroit Tigers. Wells went 0-for-4 at the plate, but he added an outfield assist, throwing Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia out at the plate.
Tim Stauffer, a Saratoga Springs native, self-diagnosed himself with appendicitis with his iPhone.
Stauffer had been a delightful surprise for the San Diego Padres this year out of the bullpen, but he's likely to miss about four weeks recovering from surgery.
