Predmore is an unassuming star at Shen

Shenendehowa High School sophomore Lizzie Predmore nears the finish line at the 2009 Section II cross country championships. She's also a star for the Lady Plainsmen's track and field team. (Photo by Tom Killips - The Record).

Our Ryan Kircher wrote a feature story on Shen's Lizzie Predmore for Friday's paper. Here is the lead to his story. Lizzie's mother and brother have won Troy Turkey Trot 5k titles. Lizzie is a past champion of the grade school mile. She has passed up the Turkey Trot the past few years to concentrate on a Nike cross country invitational held the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

For the full version, check out Friday's edition of The Record.

CLIFTON PARK - Lizzie Predmore may be the most unassuming track star in the country.

The Shenendehowa High School sophomore is soft-spoken and reserved off the track.

On it, she's speed and endurance personified.

"You don't know by talking to her what she's capable of," Shenendehowa head coach Rob Cloutier said. "But she can absolutely flat-out fly."

For proof, one only needs to look at Predmore’s run in the 1,500 meters at the Colonie Relays on May 1. On a sultry Saturday afternoon, Predmore blew the doors off the competition en route to a personal and meet record 4:33.3, currently the sixth-fastest time in the country this year.
