AMSTERDAM - La Salle Institute’s Ethan Long defeated Amsterdam’s Tom Kaczmarek in No. 1 singles action, 6-0, 6-0, leading the Cadets to a Big 10 Conference boys tennis victory by the score of 9-0 at Amsterdam High School.
Taylor McGowan, Steven Brady, Padraic Philbin, Liam Doyle and Evan Quinn all added singles victories for L Salle.
Albany 7, Troy 2: Troy’s Jordan Schroeder topped Albany’s Chanpreet Saran in singles action, 6-4, 6-4, but the Falcons came away with the Big 10 victory.
Jimmy Lo also won a singles match for Troy, defeating Albany’s Carl Goodson, 6-4, 6-7, 7-6.
Ravena 5, Cohoes 2: Cohoes won both doubles matches, but Ravena swept the singles action en route to a Colonial Council victory over the Tigers.
Christina Sandul and Justin Stoller posted a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Ravena’s Tim Vishneowski and Brandon Metcal, while Cohoes’ Sandy VanAllen and Victoria Santiago topped Geoff Fryer and Bryan Weisheit, 4-6, 6-0, 6-0.
Albany Academy 7, Cobleskill 0: Stefan Kuhar and Lukas Schmied both won singles matches by the score of 6-1, 6-0 for the Cadets in a Colonial Council victory over the Bulldogs.Kevin Butler and Damian Chan won a doubles match by the same score.
Niskayuna 8, Colonie 1: Niskayuna swept the singles matches and won two of three doubles pairs, posting a Suburban Council victory over the Garnet Raiders.
Shenendehowa 6, Averill Park 3: The Plainsmen topped the Warriors in a Suburban Council match.
Bethlehem 9, Saratoga Springs 0: Peter Collins topped Zach Arpey in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-3, leading the Eagles (4-0) to the Suburban Council victory.
Maple Hill 7, Catskill 0: The Wildcats captured a Patroon Conference victory over the Cats.
Softball
Troy 4, Albany 1: Julie Brinkman allowed one hit and struck out six in seven innings of work and Gabby Daniels added a home run in a Big 10 Conference victory for the Flying Horses (2-0, 2-3).
Mackenzie Heiser singled and tripled for Troy.
Nora Boisseau provided the lone Falcons hit, a single. Albany dropped to 0-2 in the league and is 0-6 overall.
Cohoes 9, Ravena 0: Courtney Dayter struck out 12 Ravena hitters and added a double and a single at the plate in a Colonial Council victory for the Tigers (3-0, 3-1).
Shanna Cooper added three singles and two RBI for Cohoes.
Rebecca Phillips led off the bottom of the first inning with a single, which wound up being the Indians’ (2-1, 2-2) only hit of the game.
Watervliet 15, Cobleskill 9: The Cannoneers finished with 15 hits and took advantage of 15 walks to win a Colonial Council game and double their win total from a year ago.
Jocelyn Burnett cracked a double for Watervliet, which had seven players finish with two hits. Noelle Gilchrist scored four runs for the Cannoners (2-2).
Christine Hay hit a double and Justine Spearbeck finished with two singles for Cobleskill, which scored all of its runs in the third inning.
Granville 3, Tamarac 2: Missy Urkevich hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning, but Granville responded with the game-tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the fifth to post a Wasaren League victory.
Tamarac, which managed nine hits in the game, dropped to 1-2 in the league and 3-2 overall.
Hoosic Valley 2, Stillwater 0: Eileen Farrell smacked a two-run double and Morgan Anderson pitched a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts in the Wasaren League victory for the Indians (2-1, 3-2).
Bethlehem 8, Saratoga Springs 1: Toni Edwards struck out eight and went 2-for-4 at the plate, sparking the Eagles (5-0, 5-0) to a Suburban Council victory.
Mary Beth Dombrowski went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, Kat Rice tripled and drove in three runs and Courtney Sullivan went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for Bethlehem.
Columbia 5, Burnt Hills 1: The Suburban Council rivals were scoreless through five innings.
Columbia scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth to win the game. Caitlin Cooper hit a run-scoring double and Paige Sovey added a two-out single in the decisive rally.
Meg Heck hit a run-scoring single in the top of the inning to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead. Meg Ostrom cruised through five innings with a three-hitter before allowing three hits and two walks to the Blue Devils in the sixth inning.
Winning pitcher Jenna Servidone finished with a five-hitter and nine strikeouts.
Guilderland 5, Shaker 0: Jess Saburro and Cori Hilt combined to no-hit Shaker in a Suburban Council victory for the Lady Dutch.
Sammie Schroeter went 3-for-3 and scored a run. Kari Balogh knocked in a pair of runs on a double.
Loudonville Christian 15, New Lebanon 1: Alex Rollis struck out 10 in a complete game victory, also going 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored for Loudonville Christian (3-0, 3-1).
Jillian Hogan went 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Ichabod Crane 7, Maple Hill 1: Mandi Adee pitched a complete-game five-hitter with seven strikeouts for Ichabod Crane, leading the Riders (3-0) to a Patroon Conference victory.
Maggie Miller went 2-for-4 for Maple Hill (2-2).

Watervliet 7, Cobleskill-Richmondville 2: Kevin Pontore tripled, singled and drove in two runs for the Cannoneers in their first victory of the season, a Colonial Council triumph over the Bulldogs (1-2, 1-3).
Josh Veshia added a two-run double in the fourth inning for Watervliet (1-3, 1-4).
Lansingburgh 11, Ravena 2: Catcher Jake Luce knocked in four runs with two doubles and two singles to lead the Knights (4-0, 4-3) to a Colonial Council rout.
Dom Cioffi knocked in two runs with a pair of singles for the Knights. Mark Gorman and Willliam McMullen hit doubles to pace Ravena.
Mechanicville 11, Cohoes 6: Sam DeCelle’s three-run homer in the sixth inning, his fourth hit of the game, rallied the Red Raiders for a Colonial Council victory. DeCelle scored four runs.
Mike Hipwell added two singles and two RBI for Mechanicville. Tyler Giller finished with three hits and two RBI for Cohoes.
Schalmont 5, Voorheesville 3: Joe Amorosi struck out 10 in the complete game victory and his solo home run in the fifth inning proved to be the game-winning run for the Sabres (4-0, 5-1).
Colin Mcuee singled twice and stole a pair of bases for the Blackbirds (1-2, 4-2).
Colonie 5, Niskayuna 3: Chris Kerney allowed just two hits in six innings of work and Chris Kalica added a pair of doubles for the Garnet Raiders (3-2, 6-3) in a Suburban Council victory over the Silver Warriors (2-3, 3-3).
Shenendehowa 15, Averill Park 0: Andrew Kalish hit a triple and drove in four runs, while Brandon Galluppi added two singles and three RBI for the Plainsmen (5-0, 5-0) in a Suburban Council victory.
Averill Park (3-2, 4-3) pitchers walked eight batters and hit five more with pitchers.
Shaker 7, Guilderland 2: Joe Bilysky’s single in the fourth inning knocked iun the go-ahead run and the Blue Bison held on to win the Suburban Council game.
Brian Egan finished with two doubles and a single, and Derek Gardello and Drew Lasky each added a double and single for Shaker.
Guilderland scored its two runs in the first inning wghen Matt Zanotta blasted his eighth home run of the season.
Ballston Spa 10, Mohonasen 0: Brian Guilder hit a home run and Andrew Stawnicy added a single and a double for the Scotties (1-5, 1-5) in a Suburban Council triumph over the Mighty Warriors (0-5, 0-6).
Saratoga Springs 5, Bethlehem 1: Matt Coleman pitched a complete game and Luke Fauler tripled for the Blue Streaks (4-1, 5-3) in a Suburban Council victory over the Eagles (1-4, 2-5).
Granville 9, Tamarac 1: Ethan Macura went the distance, striking out nine against one walk in a Wasaren League triumph for the Golden Horde (2-1, 6-1).
Brady Talbot singled and scored Tamarac’s (1-2) only run.
Hoosic Valley 11, Stillwater 10: Ryland Van Praag’s two-run single in a five-run sixth inning scored the game-winning run, enabling Hoosic Valley to win a Wasaren League game.
Dillon Meleski added two singles, two runs scored and an RBI for Hoosic Valley (1-2, 3-3).
Logan cracked a double, two singles and knocked in two runs for Stillwater (0-3, 1-3). Brian Byer finished with a double, single and scored three runs.
Greenwich 2, Cambridge 0: Colin McCormack provided plenty of drama with a two-out, two-strike, two-run homer in the sixth inning to give the Witches (3-0, 6-1) a Wasaren League victory.
Jason Flynn and Neil Fryer combined to throw a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts for Greenwich. Kyle Palmateer hit two singles for Cambridge (0-3, 1-5).
Waterford 22, Doane Stuart 2: Garren Barna went 3-for-3 with five RBI, Ryan Clune went 2-for-2 with three RBI and Zac Lennon went 2-for-3 with three runs driven in for the Fordians in the CHVL victory over Doane Stuart.
La Salle 7, Schenectady 3: Zach Remillard singled three times and scored two runs, while J.P. Sportman singled, tripled, scored two runs and drove in two more for the Cadets (3-0, 3-0) in the Big 10 victory.
Joe Borowski smacked two doubles and scored a run for the Patriots (2-1, 2-2).
Troy 9, Catholic Central 2: Matt Maxwell hit a two-run double and Steve Zitter added a two-run single as the Flying Horses (2-2) beat their city rival in a Big 10 game.
Anibal Maldonado added a double, single and RBI for Troy.
Boys Lacrosse
Shenendehowa 4, CBA 3: Joey Gaug and Connor Arnold scored two goals apiece for the Plainsmen in a non-conference victory over the Brothers. Arnold’s game-winner came with 7:35 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Carter Sherman scored two goals for CBA. Jack Reilly tallied the other.
Girls Lacrosse
Emma Willard 12, Holy Names 11: Shelby Wood scored a game-high seven goals for Holy Names, but Francesca Gundrum paced Wmm Willard with five goals in the Capital District Women’s Lacrosse League victory for the Jesters (2-1, 2-3).
Holy Names (1-4) scored eight goals in the second half to rally, but came up one goal short.
Albany Academy for Girls 16, Cohoes 0: Caroline Gersuk, Bridget Malicki and Polly Grey scored three goals apiece for the Bears (6-0) in a Capital District Women’s Lacrosse League victory over Cohoes.
Ballston Spa 14, Schenectady 11 (OT): Sophia Lookretis scored five goals for the Scotties (2-4) in a non-conference victory over the Lady Patriots (0-3).
Girls Track and Field
CCHS and Bishop Gibbons at Troy: Troy High’s 1600 meter relay team – Bianca Jordan, Courtney Avery, Alexis Jordan and Jenette Williams - set a school record and that 4:11.2 run helped the Flying Horses top Catholic Central and Bishop Gibbons in a Big 10 Track and Field Meet at Troy High Monday afternoon.
Boys Track and Field
CCHS and Bishop Gibbons at Troy: Troy High’s Jordan Canzeri won the 100 meter (11.2) and 200 meter (23.1) dashes Monday afternoon as the Flying Horses topped Gibbons and Catholic High in a Big 10 Conference track and field meet. Troy is now 3-1 in dual meets this season.

Taylor McGowan, Steven Brady, Padraic Philbin, Liam Doyle and Evan Quinn all added singles victories for L Salle.
Albany 7, Troy 2: Troy’s Jordan Schroeder topped Albany’s Chanpreet Saran in singles action, 6-4, 6-4, but the Falcons came away with the Big 10 victory.
Jimmy Lo also won a singles match for Troy, defeating Albany’s Carl Goodson, 6-4, 6-7, 7-6.
Ravena 5, Cohoes 2: Cohoes won both doubles matches, but Ravena swept the singles action en route to a Colonial Council victory over the Tigers.
Christina Sandul and Justin Stoller posted a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Ravena’s Tim Vishneowski and Brandon Metcal, while Cohoes’ Sandy VanAllen and Victoria Santiago topped Geoff Fryer and Bryan Weisheit, 4-6, 6-0, 6-0.
Albany Academy 7, Cobleskill 0: Stefan Kuhar and Lukas Schmied both won singles matches by the score of 6-1, 6-0 for the Cadets in a Colonial Council victory over the Bulldogs.Kevin Butler and Damian Chan won a doubles match by the same score.
Niskayuna 8, Colonie 1: Niskayuna swept the singles matches and won two of three doubles pairs, posting a Suburban Council victory over the Garnet Raiders.

Troy 4, Albany 1: Julie Brinkman allowed one hit and struck out six in seven innings of work and Gabby Daniels added a home run in a Big 10 Conference victory for the Flying Horses (2-0, 2-3).
Mackenzie Heiser singled and tripled for Troy.
Nora Boisseau provided the lone Falcons hit, a single. Albany dropped to 0-2 in the league and is 0-6 overall.
Cohoes 9, Ravena 0: Courtney Dayter struck out 12 Ravena hitters and added a double and a single at the plate in a Colonial Council victory for the Tigers (3-0, 3-1).
Shanna Cooper added three singles and two RBI for Cohoes.
Rebecca Phillips led off the bottom of the first inning with a single, which wound up being the Indians’ (2-1, 2-2) only hit of the game.
Watervliet 15, Cobleskill 9: The Cannoneers finished with 15 hits and took advantage of 15 walks to win a Colonial Council game and double their win total from a year ago.
Jocelyn Burnett cracked a double for Watervliet, which had seven players finish with two hits. Noelle Gilchrist scored four runs for the Cannoners (2-2).
Christine Hay hit a double and Justine Spearbeck finished with two singles for Cobleskill, which scored all of its runs in the third inning.
Granville 3, Tamarac 2: Missy Urkevich hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning, but Granville responded with the game-tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the fifth to post a Wasaren League victory.
Tamarac, which managed nine hits in the game, dropped to 1-2 in the league and 3-2 overall.
Hoosic Valley 2, Stillwater 0: Eileen Farrell smacked a two-run double and Morgan Anderson pitched a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts in the Wasaren League victory for the Indians (2-1, 3-2).
Bethlehem 8, Saratoga Springs 1: Toni Edwards struck out eight and went 2-for-4 at the plate, sparking the Eagles (5-0, 5-0) to a Suburban Council victory.
Mary Beth Dombrowski went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, Kat Rice tripled and drove in three runs and Courtney Sullivan went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for Bethlehem.
Columbia 5, Burnt Hills 1: The Suburban Council rivals were scoreless through five innings.
Columbia scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth to win the game. Caitlin Cooper hit a run-scoring double and Paige Sovey added a two-out single in the decisive rally.
Meg Heck hit a run-scoring single in the top of the inning to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead. Meg Ostrom cruised through five innings with a three-hitter before allowing three hits and two walks to the Blue Devils in the sixth inning.
Winning pitcher Jenna Servidone finished with a five-hitter and nine strikeouts.
Guilderland 5, Shaker 0: Jess Saburro and Cori Hilt combined to no-hit Shaker in a Suburban Council victory for the Lady Dutch.
Sammie Schroeter went 3-for-3 and scored a run. Kari Balogh knocked in a pair of runs on a double.
Loudonville Christian 15, New Lebanon 1: Alex Rollis struck out 10 in a complete game victory, also going 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored for Loudonville Christian (3-0, 3-1).
Jillian Hogan went 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Ichabod Crane 7, Maple Hill 1: Mandi Adee pitched a complete-game five-hitter with seven strikeouts for Ichabod Crane, leading the Riders (3-0) to a Patroon Conference victory.

Watervliet 7, Cobleskill-Richmondville 2: Kevin Pontore tripled, singled and drove in two runs for the Cannoneers in their first victory of the season, a Colonial Council triumph over the Bulldogs (1-2, 1-3).
Josh Veshia added a two-run double in the fourth inning for Watervliet (1-3, 1-4).
Lansingburgh 11, Ravena 2: Catcher Jake Luce knocked in four runs with two doubles and two singles to lead the Knights (4-0, 4-3) to a Colonial Council rout.
Dom Cioffi knocked in two runs with a pair of singles for the Knights. Mark Gorman and Willliam McMullen hit doubles to pace Ravena.
Mechanicville 11, Cohoes 6: Sam DeCelle’s three-run homer in the sixth inning, his fourth hit of the game, rallied the Red Raiders for a Colonial Council victory. DeCelle scored four runs.
Mike Hipwell added two singles and two RBI for Mechanicville. Tyler Giller finished with three hits and two RBI for Cohoes.
Schalmont 5, Voorheesville 3: Joe Amorosi struck out 10 in the complete game victory and his solo home run in the fifth inning proved to be the game-winning run for the Sabres (4-0, 5-1).
Colin Mcuee singled twice and stole a pair of bases for the Blackbirds (1-2, 4-2).
Colonie 5, Niskayuna 3: Chris Kerney allowed just two hits in six innings of work and Chris Kalica added a pair of doubles for the Garnet Raiders (3-2, 6-3) in a Suburban Council victory over the Silver Warriors (2-3, 3-3).

Brady Talbot singled and scored Tamarac’s (1-2) only run.
Hoosic Valley 11, Stillwater 10: Ryland Van Praag’s two-run single in a five-run sixth inning scored the game-winning run, enabling Hoosic Valley to win a Wasaren League game.
Dillon Meleski added two singles, two runs scored and an RBI for Hoosic Valley (1-2, 3-3).
Logan cracked a double, two singles and knocked in two runs for Stillwater (0-3, 1-3). Brian Byer finished with a double, single and scored three runs.
Greenwich 2, Cambridge 0: Colin McCormack provided plenty of drama with a two-out, two-strike, two-run homer in the sixth inning to give the Witches (3-0, 6-1) a Wasaren League victory.
Jason Flynn and Neil Fryer combined to throw a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts for Greenwich. Kyle Palmateer hit two singles for Cambridge (0-3, 1-5).
Waterford 22, Doane Stuart 2: Garren Barna went 3-for-3 with five RBI, Ryan Clune went 2-for-2 with three RBI and Zac Lennon went 2-for-3 with three runs driven in for the Fordians in the CHVL victory over Doane Stuart.
La Salle 7, Schenectady 3: Zach Remillard singled three times and scored two runs, while J.P. Sportman singled, tripled, scored two runs and drove in two more for the Cadets (3-0, 3-0) in the Big 10 victory.
Joe Borowski smacked two doubles and scored a run for the Patriots (2-1, 2-2).
Troy 9, Catholic Central 2: Matt Maxwell hit a two-run double and Steve Zitter added a two-run single as the Flying Horses (2-2) beat their city rival in a Big 10 game.
Anibal Maldonado added a double, single and RBI for Troy.
Boys Lacrosse
Shenendehowa 4, CBA 3: Joey Gaug and Connor Arnold scored two goals apiece for the Plainsmen in a non-conference victory over the Brothers. Arnold’s game-winner came with 7:35 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Carter Sherman scored two goals for CBA. Jack Reilly tallied the other.
Girls Lacrosse
Emma Willard 12, Holy Names 11: Shelby Wood scored a game-high seven goals for Holy Names, but Francesca Gundrum paced Wmm Willard with five goals in the Capital District Women’s Lacrosse League victory for the Jesters (2-1, 2-3).
Holy Names (1-4) scored eight goals in the second half to rally, but came up one goal short.
Albany Academy for Girls 16, Cohoes 0: Caroline Gersuk, Bridget Malicki and Polly Grey scored three goals apiece for the Bears (6-0) in a Capital District Women’s Lacrosse League victory over Cohoes.
Ballston Spa 14, Schenectady 11 (OT): Sophia Lookretis scored five goals for the Scotties (2-4) in a non-conference victory over the Lady Patriots (0-3).

CCHS and Bishop Gibbons at Troy: Troy High’s 1600 meter relay team – Bianca Jordan, Courtney Avery, Alexis Jordan and Jenette Williams - set a school record and that 4:11.2 run helped the Flying Horses top Catholic Central and Bishop Gibbons in a Big 10 Track and Field Meet at Troy High Monday afternoon.

CCHS and Bishop Gibbons at Troy: Troy High’s Jordan Canzeri won the 100 meter (11.2) and 200 meter (23.1) dashes Monday afternoon as the Flying Horses topped Gibbons and Catholic High in a Big 10 Conference track and field meet. Troy is now 3-1 in dual meets this season.
