Jackson paces Troy High track; Wednesday's roundup

The Record

COLONIE - Troy High junior Travon Jackson won the 110-meter high hurdles (15.2 seconds) and the long jump (19’2") in a Big 10 Conference boys’ track and field meet with La Salle Institute at Christian Brothers Academy Wednesday afternoon.
La Salle won head-to-head matches over Troy (106-82) and CBA (115-61). Troy defeated CBA head-to-head, 99-72.
La Salle’s Denis Hurley won the 3200 meter run in a time of 9:54.5 and Tyler Washington won the triple jump (40’ 9.75") and 400 hurdles (58 seconds) for the Cadets.
CBA’s Thomas Lucey won the 100 meter dash in 11.1 seconds.

Catholic Central and Amsterdam at Schenectady: Catholic Central’s Nehill Danbury won the discus (108’ 8") and the shot put (39’ 5") but Schenectady High dominated a Big 10 meet, defeating Amsterdam and CCHS in head-to-head action.
Girls track and field
Catholic Central and Amsterdam at Schenectady: The Lady Patriots defeated Amsterdam and Catholic Central in head-to-head action at a Big 10 Conference track meet at Schenectady Wednesday afternoon.
Catholic Central did not have any individual first place finishers.
Softball
Columbia 12, Ballston Spa 0: Nicole Schepisi hit a double and a single and drove in three runs and Hillary Faas singled twice and drove in two runs for the Blue Devils (4-0, 8-0) in a Suburban Council victory.
Taylor Monderton singled twice for the Scotties (0-3, 0-3).

Lansingburgh 7, Albany Academy for Girls 2: Sarah Cipperly hit a triple, the only extra-base hit of the game, as Lansingburgh posted a Colonial Council victory Wednesday.
All three of Lansingburgh’s earned runs came in the first inning.
Academy’s Rebecca Smith struck out 12 batters and her batterymate, catcher Sarah Connolly, added a pair of singles for the Bears (0-1, 0-1).

Harry Friedman added two singles and two runs scored for Albany.
Troy scored three runs in the first inning, but committed three errors in the loss.
La Salle 24, Bishop Maginn 4: J.P. Sportman hit two singles, two doubles and a triple, driving in six runs and scoring five in a Big 10 Conference victory over the Griffins (0-2, 0-5).
Zach Remillard added three singles, a triple, four runs scored and three RBI for the Cadets (2-0, 2-0).
