2009 Connie Mack World Series Qualifier Tournament

Tom Kahnle, a Shaker High grad, pitched for the South Troy Dodgers in the 2008 Connie Mack World Series Qualifier Tournament and was named the Most Outstanding Player in the 2009 NCAA Division II tournament, leading Lynn to a national championship.

Plenty of future college stars and Major League Baseball draft picks will take to the diamonds around the Capital District this week with a berth in the 2009 Connie Mack World Series on the line.

3 p.m. – Team 2 vs. Team 4

Tuesday, July 2

9 a.m. – Team 2 vs. Team 3

Noon – Team 1 vs. Team 4

End of pool play

Six teams (five pool winners and one wildcard winner) advance to double elimination round. First round games begin Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Let's hope the rain holds off and the schedule holds up, because it is a great week of baseball featuring some of the best young talent from across the country.
