Patriots bury Flying Horses

Troy senior forward Dan McLaren (44) reaches for a rebound in Tuesday's loss to Schenectady. Derrick Millinghaus (1) lit up the court, scoring 22 points, snaring nine rebounds and making a number of steals to lead the Patriots to a 61-42 victory. (JS Carras - The Record).

Not much positive news to relay in terms of the Troy High hoops team. They fell into foul trouble early in the first quarter and allowed the Patriots' pressing defense to generate turnovers and build an insurmountable lead.
The Flying Horses are a defense-first type of team and if they can't control the tempo of the game, they will struggle. If they can find a durable offensive option, Troy might be in business.
McLaren scored 14 points and Zack Dolan played well on the boards, however.

Schenectady's Reece Jackson goes up and over Troy's Lashawn Chapman (42) in Tuesday's Big 10 game at Troy High School. (JS Carras - The Record).

"We’re struggling right now," Troy head coach Jeff Sitterly said. "We’re not scoring points, but we’ll keep at it. Our hope is to be a decent team at the end of the season."
