Cohoes ran wild over the Cadets on Saturday afternoon - turning 50 rushing attempts into 292 yards on the ground in a 36-22 Reinfurt Division victory at Albany Academy.
Fogarty, a sophomore, picked up 161 yards on 24 carries and scored three touchdowns.
Senior Steve Weaver collected 124 yards on 18 touches and the Tigers never needed to go to the air thanks to their dangerous two-man backfield.
Cohoes (1-0, 3-0) has a leg up on the compeition in the Reinfurt Division, but they'll face a tough test in two weeks on the road at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk.
But the best part of Satruday's game for the Cohoes players was the support on the sidelines. Tons of Cohoes fans came out and they were loud in the second half.
And you better believe the twelfth man made a difference in the game, just ask Steve Weaver.
"If we didn’t have that I don’t know how we would have gotten through it," Weaver said.
The Tigers have had only four winning seasons in school history, dating back to 1950. (The school did not field teams from 1961-1966 and from 1979-1987).
But the defeatist attitude is beginning to change in the Spindle City. In fact, the school is bringing in portable lights for Friday's homecoming game against Cairo-Durham and it will be the first-ever home night game in school history.
"We’re rolling right now and we’re coming into homecoming full steam ahead," said Josh Fitzpatrick who held on to the game-clinching intercpetion in the final minute.
"We have a lot to look forward to this season," said Cohoes senior quarterback Mark Gallerie. "We have all our seniors returning and we have something special going for us right now at 3-0. People are seeing Cohoes actually has a name now and we just hope we can stick with it and keep giving Cohoes the name we need to give it this year."

In other news, another program on the rise, Tamarac, continued its fine defensive play Friday night, defeating Coxsackie-Athens 36-6. Senior QB David Fox kicked three field goals, ran for a touchdown and kicked two extra points as the Bengals improved to 3-0 with a South Division victory. Fox threw for 150 yards and ran for 57, while Phil Arnold caught four passes for 65 yards, ran for a touchdown and returned an interception 40 yards for another score.
On Saturday, the Bengals will get their biggest test of the year when they travel to Fonda-Fultonville (3-0, 3-0). The Braves have outscored opponents 164-26 this season. First place in the Class C South Division will be on the line.
