Cross Country State Rankings-Corrected
An astute observer pointed out an error in the original state rankings post. The girls rankings were the first soccer rankings of the season. The correct girls cross country rankings are now posted along with soccer.

The first cross country state rankings are out and as expected Section II is well represented. The girls rankings are separated by class while the boys are grouped together for the first week.
Shenendehowa boys take the top spot in the state and are No. 4 in the country according to The Harrier magazine. They are the only New York State boys team ranked in the top 25. With Dan Harris, Mike Danaher, Brian Trainor, Jamie Glover and Warwick transfer Alex Luchenka on the roster the Plainsmen are loaded. Shen rested its top five runners at last weeks Springstead Invitational but should return to full strength at the Bowdoin Classic in Wappinger Falls (the site of the Federation Meet).
Burnt Hills boys are third and Queensbury, fresh off a first place finish at the Springstead Invitational, is fifth.
The depth of talent in Section II on the girls side is evident with 12 schools in the rankings.
Saratoga Springs at No. 2 in AA and Shenendehowa at seventh.
The Burnt Hills girls have the top spot in class A (No. 2 in The Harrier's top 25) after a first place finish at the Guilderland Invitational.
The Spartans rested their top runners but still got the job done at Tawasentha Park.
Queensbury's right behind at No. 2.

I don't think these are the state cross-country rankings at all. New Lebanon, Stillwater and Hoosick Falls don't even have girls cross-country teams and Ravena and Tamarac are mediocre.
