The NFL quarterback rating formula is a complicated number - you can click here to get all the information you'd like on how the number is calculated.

The maximum rating is 158.3 and according to the stats we've taken at games and received from coaches, Burnt Hills' Paul Layton is leading the way with a rating of 144.1.

The NFL formula rewards completion percentage, number of touchdowns thrown and fewest interceptions thrown. I will try to keep up to date each week with the updated numbers.
In case you'd like to check my work, feel free to download a copy of the excel sheet below with the stats and forumlas entered in.

What games are you looking forward to this weekend? Is the Cohoes-Albany Academy game on Saturday afternoon the game of the week or do you have your eyes on something else?

Look for standings, game capsules, schedules, feature stories and stats in Friday's edition of The Record.
