Tuesday's high school recap

Lansingburgh's Alney Tobias hit the trifecta at the Colonial Council Championships in Ravena. Tobias took first in the 800, 1600 and 3000 meter steeplechase to help the Knights boys team capture their third Colonial crown in four years. Steve Black won both the 100 and 200 meter dash.

In softball Catholic Central's Nikki Hedrick no-hit Bishop Gibbons in a 12-1 victory on Tuesday. Hedrick struck out 13 batters and allowed just two base runners one a hit batter one on an error.

The Lady Tigers of Cohoes were no-hit by Bethlehem's Antonia Edwards in a 5-0 loss.

In baseball La Salle moved a step closer to a fifth straight Big 10 title with a 8-3 win over CBA. Sophomore Dave Roseboomthrew a complete game and struck out 10.

Zach Ramsey threw a solid game for Cohoes but it wasn't enough as the Tigers fell 3-2 to first place Ravena in the Colonial.


Claeb Gleason homered twice in the same inning as the Cannoneers picked up a non-league win over Hoosick Falls 15-2.

Chris Ryan launched a two-run home run to lead Tamarac to a 9-2 Wasaren League win over Stillwater.
