Catholic Central dropped a 6-5 decision to Schenectady in the Big 10. The Crusaders will look to rebound this weekend at the Uncle Sam Tournament at Geer Field.
Bethlehem jumped all over Guilderland with an 11-1 win. The Eagles, the No.16 ranked AA team in the state, are this years Suburban Council White Division champs.
--In softball, Hoosic Valley won its 41 consectuvie game with a rainshortened 1-0 win over Greenwich. Jen Mineau was her usual dominant self, striking out 16 to improve to 16-0. Kelsey Polmateer drove home the lone run of the game with an RBI single in the third.
Courtney Galuski took a no-hitter into the seventh before surrendering three singles but it was more than enough as the Tigers cruised to a 7-2 win over Voorheesville. Galuski struck out 16 batters in the win.
Shenendehowa beat Colonie 5-1 behind Amanda Ferro's 17 strike out one-hit performance. The Lady Plainsmen clinched the Suburban Blue Division title with the win.
