Maple Hill girls move on to Final Four

QUEENSBURY - With four of its five starters in foul trouble, it wasn't easy for the Maple Hill girls basketball team, but the Wildcats held on for a 52-46 over Section X champion Brushton-Moira in Saturday's regional final at Adirondack Community College.
Maple Hill's Katie Roth scored a game-high 24, but she fouled out with 1:32 remaining in the game, the first time she had ever fouled out in her career.
Jessica Dailey made both shots on a one-and-one situation to increase Maple Hill's lead to 51-45 with 1:09 to go and Maple Hill moved on to the New York State Final Four for the first time in school history.

More on the game, including a video, to come later.
In other regional action, I understand that the Watervliet and Shenendehowa girls have also advance to the Final Four, along with Averill Park, which punched its ticket last night.
It should be a fun time for Section II basketball fans at Hudson Valley Community College next weekend.

"All these kids play summer league together and they know each other from CYO and some of them play AAU together," said Maple Hill head coach Mark Bubniak. "It's definitely nice. Especially with two Rensselaer county teams with us and Averill Park and Watervliet and Shen as well. Hudson Valley will be rocking next week and hopefully the fans from all four teams support each other."
