Section II Quarterback Ratings

Hoosick Falls junior quarterback Mike Brewster is dragged to the ground during last week's game against Cambridge, a 21-19 Panthers victory. Brewster is Section II's second-best QB, at least according to the NFL QB rating formula. (Photo by J.S. Carras - The Record).

Here are your Section II QB rating leaders after six weeks of the regular season among quarterback with at least 600 passing yards. Remember, the QB rating formula balances four characteristics (accuracy, yardage, touchdowns and interceptions, all divided by passes attempted) of a QB's game through a complicated formula, giving us a way to judge one player against another.

The maximum rating is 158.3 and anything over 100 is generally considered very good.

Remember to drop by Thursday (10/15) evening at 6 p.m. for our weekly high school football chat. Five Rensselaer County teams have a chance to wrap up division titles this weekend, so let's focus the discussion on those teams (La Salle, Troy, Lansingburgh, Hoosick Falls and Rensselaer) and how they figure to stack up in the playoffs, which begin next week.
