Maple Hill's Taylor Czajkowski (2) looks to move the ball against the Ichabod Crane defenders during Monday's game.
CASTLETON - The Maple Hill High School girls soccer team could have all but wrapped up the 2009 Patroon Conference regular season title with a victory over Ichabod Crane Monday afternoon, but the Riders had other ideas.
Mariela Jacome scored two goals and Alex Armstrong added another as Ichabod Crane topped the Wildcats 3-1 at Maple Hill Middle School on the final day of Maple Hill’s 2009 Fall Sports Weekend.
Ichabod Crane (10-1-1) now holds a one-half game lead over Maple Hill (9-1-2) with four games to play in the regular season. The teams had played to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 18.
Ashley Cross scored an unassisted goal for the Wildcats. Maple Hill’s Anna Racz made six saves in goal.
Jessica Mink added an assist for the Riders, while netminder Alicia Mink stopped six shots.
