Friday night highlights

The three top teams in Class B last year were Hudson Falls, the Super Bowl winner, Schalmont, a surprise opening round loser, and Cohoes.
The Lansingburgh Knights have already crossed two off the list and Cohoes is coming up next.

Senior quarterback T.J. McLaughlin works on his Heisman Trophy pose, fending off the Schalmont defenders. McLaughlin passed for 190 yards in the victory.

"We've been working on it all week," McLaughlin said of the passing game.

"He threw the ball well and that's part of our scheme," first year head coach Al McNall said of McLaughlin. "We want to get out and utilize his talents."

Schalmont senior quarterback Vince Gallo looks for running room as Lansingburgh's Mark Tracey (52) looks to chase him down. Gallo rushed for 147 yards, but completed only 1-of-9 pass attempts.

Back in Troy, Tyler Washington scored three touchdowns on his birthday, leading the La Salle Institute Cadets to a 34-7 victory over Christian Brothers Academy, keeping the Sabre in the Collar City. La Salle has won every Sabre game since the rivalry resumed in 2001.

"I was just coming out, and really, the whole team was expecting to come out and play a hard game," Washington said. "I was just happy when they called my number that I could step up and make the play."
