Spring wins World Series, now hosts Mid-Atlantic Regional

The Spring Youth Baseball nine-and-under team is already a World Series champion squad, but they've got more games to play this weekend in the Cal Ripken North Atlantic Regional right here in Troy.

Spring hosted a skills competition Wednesday afternoon and our Andrew Santillo was there. Read his story from today's paper here. Here are some shots from the event.

In other baseball news, the Melvin Roads Post team from East Greenbush is competing in the American Legion Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Morgantown, W.V. You can follow the action by clicking here and we'll be sure to update you this weekend with their progress.

In Little League action, East Greenbush-Castleton and Colonie square off for the Section III championship tonight at Twin Town at 6 p.m. The winner of this game will go on to face the Champions from the remaining five sections of New York State Little League Baseball this weekend in Oswego, NY for the NYS Championship.
