UNYSABA Connie Mack tournament update

Rain washed out much of the anticipated action in the Upper New York State Amateur Baseball Association Connie Mack tournament at the Boght Area Baseball Complex on Friday afternoon.
South Colonie eliminated Sorensco in the morning, but the game between South Troy and North Colonie was postponed in the fourth inning, with the Dodgers holding a 13-4 lead.

That game will resume Saturday at 10 a.m. and a game between the Lansingburgh Royals and North Colonie is scheduled to immediately follow.

Friday’s scores
South Colonie 7, Sorensco 3
South Troy 13, North Colonie 4 (suspended in fourth inning)
Saturday’s Schedule
South Troy vs North Colonie (resumption of suspended game), 10 a.m. Boght Complex
Lansingburgh vs North Colonie, Noon
Clifton Park vs South Troy at Geer Field, Noon
Remaining teams (Lansingburgh, South Troy, North Colonie, South Colonie, Clifton Park - if not eliminated in Round Four) will redraw for Round Five
Games TBD at 3 and 6 p.m. at Boght Complex

All of these times, of course, are weather permitting and approximate, depending on Friday night's weather and how quickly the field crews can make the diamonds playable on Saturday morning.

If the Dodgers' big lead over the Padres holds up when the two resume play on Saturday, South Troy and Lansingburgh will be the only two undefeated teams remaining in the five-team pool.

Check out Saturday's edition of The Record for more about Morrissey's journey from Lansingburgh Little League to Liberty League baseball with Clarkson University and how he's looking forward to a rematch with the Royals in this tournament, should one happen.

"I’m looking forward to seeing them," Morrissey said. "I’m sure we’ll play them in the tournament at some point in a big game. I went to school with almost all of the guys on that team so it should be fun."
