It was a sloppy day fundamentally for the Dodgers. They committed eight errors and grounded into four double plays in the two games and their pitchers were pounded for 24 hits by a patient and scrappy Long Island lineup.

“We had our chances in the first game, but we had too many errors,” South Troy manager George Rogers said. “The first game was the key. I felt we had a shot at winning the first game and it just didn’t happen. In the second game I think we came out flat and it just steamrolled from there.”

They'll get back at it this week in the New York State Tournament, beginning Thursday.
