Tigers alum makes Siena crowd roar

At halftime of Saturday's Siena College-Northern Iowa Bracketbusters game, Brendan Bradt hit a halfcourt shot and won $25,000 in front of a full house...plus the tarps.

Bradt, a 2002 Cohoes High graduate, played point guard for the Tigers and moved on to play at Hudson Valley Community College for two years.

Bradt, 24, currently lives in Boston where he plans to attend graduate school for a masters’ degree in counseling. His goal is to become a high school guidance counselor.

Bradt says he will use the $25,000 windfall to pay off student loans.

The Cohoes boys begin their 2008-09 Section II playoff push as a No. 7 seed hosting No. 10 Chatham in a Class B opening round game Tuesday at Cohoes HS. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Cohoes girls were seeded No. 11 and travel to Clums Corners to take on No. 6 Tamarac on Tuesday with a scheduled 6 p.m. tip. The Tamarac boys entertain Johnstown after the Cohoes-Tamarac girls game.
