Milligan the man in the 'Burgh

Lansingburgh senior forward Jesse Milligan works on his dribble during Monday's practice at the high school. A team captain, Milligan was cut from the modified team in seventh grade but nver gave up and has become the team's second-leading scorer as a senior. (Photo by Mike McMahon - The Record).

Lansingburgh has an opportunity to claim sole possession of the Colonial Council regular season title since 1980 with a victory over Cohoes on Tuesday night.
Check out the full story on Milligan, as well as more on Shannon Jones, in Tuesday's edition of The Record.

The Section II basketball brackets will be released on Wednesday afternoon, and I will post the first round matchups here as soon as possible. I will also open up a chat window in here if you'd like to come on and discuss the seedings and potential first round upsets, dark horse teams and likely championship game matchups.
So make sure to check back midafternoon on Wednesday for plenty of news and discussion about the Section II boys and girls basketball brackets and seeding information.
As we did for baseball, softball and football in previous season, I will also create digital brackets you can use to follow along with as the tournaments progress.
As always, pick up a copy of The Record on Thursday for the hard copy brackets you can use to document the action at home.
