Local roundup, Thurs., Oct. 21

SCHAGHTICOKE -- Mollie Gilchrist continues to be one of the top offensive threats in all of Section II.
The Hoosic Valley senior striker scored in overtime on Thursday to lift the Indians to a 1-0 victory Wasaren League over Hoosick Falls.
Samantha Carlo made 14 saves to keep a clean sheet for Hoosic Valley (11-2-0, 13-2-0).
Hoosic Valley avenged one of their two losses of the season. Hoosick Falls (9-3-1, 10-3-1) posted a 5-4 victory, back on Sept. 29.
Katelyn Stowell made 10 saves for the Panthers.
The Indians, who are No. 17 in the New York State Class B rankings, tied a school record with their 13th victory and are still searching for their first Wasaren League title.
Hoosic Valley hosts Cambridge on Monday in a huge showdown to determine the Wasaren League title.
Tamarac 1, Stillwater 0: Sarah Dormandy scored on an assist from Julia Sloboda six minutes into the second half to lift the Bengals to a Wasaren League victory over the Lady Warriors.
Nicole Matthews made four saves in goals for Tamarac.
Cambridge 1, Schuylerville 0: Sara Tironi scored the game’s only goal to give the Indians the victory.
Loudonville Christian 1, New Lebanon 0: Cassidy Allen scored the game’s lone goal.
Meghan Moffit made 15 stops in defeat.
Berlin 4, Emma Willard 0: Maria Gordon and Adriana Rizzo both scored two goals for the Mountaineers.
Waterford 2, Rensselaer 0: Alexi Vincent and Kate Howe each scored for the Fordians in the CHVL victory.
The Rams got 22 saves from goalie Marissa Mendetta.
Heatly 3, Doane Stuart 0: Alexi Anderson, Stasha Cuzdey and Melissa Heffern scored goals for the Hornets in the victory.
Cuzdey added an assist, while Andrianna Brown and Angelica Decianni combined for seven saves.
Holy Names 2, Cobleskill 2 (OT): Quinn Massaroni and Erin O’Sullivan scored for Holy Names.
Ali Thompson and Stephanie Berard each scored for the Bulldogs.
Schalmont 5, Ichabod Crane 0: Megan Strijek scored two goals to lead the Sabres (14-0-0) to the victory.
Bethlehem 5, Columbia 0: Kristie Link scored twice as did Kristina Maksuti as the Eagles posted the victory.
Niskayuna 3, Shenendehowa 2: Jenny Cascino scored the game-winning goal in the 29th minute of the second half for the Silver Warriors.
Kristen Connors had a goal and an assist for the Plainsmen.

La Salle 7, CBA 0: Kyle Reilly scored twice for the Cadets, as did Tyler Reed.
Peter Hamlin, Ryan Tremblay and Chris Skiba also scored for La Salle.
Cohoes 5, Voorheesville 1: Connor Laughlin recorded a hat trick for the Tigers in the victory.
Brandon LaForest and Mohammed Rasoully also scored for Cohoes.
Guilderland 4, Averill Park 1: Cliff Bondi scored twice for the Dutchmen in the Suburban Council victory.
Owen Nuss scored the lone goal on a feed from Matt Leffler for the Warriors.
Bethlehem 1, Columbia 0 (OT): Dan Carillo scored the game-winning goal off a rebound for the only goal of the game.
Alex Morrison made 12 stops in defeat for the Blue Devils.
Saratoga 3, Burnt Hills 0: Morgan Smith rocketed home a second half goal to help lead the Blue Streaks to the shutout victory.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake girls volleyball head coach Gary Bynon - one of my former gym teachers - looks on with his team during Thursday's match at Saratoga Springs. The Spartans haven't lost a Suburban Council match since 1990, when this reporter was in kindergarten at BH-BL.

Maple Hill 3, Taconic Hills 0: The Wildcats (14-0, 14-1) remained unbeaten in Patroon Conference play by scores of 25-10, 25-10 and 25-22.
Berlin 3, Emma Willard 1: Audrey Smith had nine service points and five kills for the Mountaineers (3-7, 4-14) in the CHVl victory.
Smith also added six digs, while Sarah Bentley finished with 10 aces, seven service points and seven kills.
Fatima Johnson had six kills and five aces for the Jesters (4-5, 5-6).
Loudonville Christian 3, New Lebanon 0: Hattie Burgher had 10 kills, while Alrina Anderson and Samantha Parry each finished with eight kills for the Eagles (9-0, 13-2).
Loudonville Christian hosts Tamarac in a sectionals tune up on Monday.
Guilderland 3, Averill Park 1: The Warriors won the first game, but the Lady Dutch (9-6) rallied to win the final three games and the match.
Bethlehem 3, Columbia 1: Kat Rice’s nine kills helped lead the Eagles (13-2, 14-2) to the victory by scores of 25-8, 23-25, 25-5 and 18-25.
Kaity Ward also added seven kills for Bethlehem.
Chatham 3, Catskill 0: Alyssa Mantell had seven aces and Erica French and Sarah Patzwahl each added six kills for the Panthers.

Field Hockey
Taconic Hills 2, Emma Willard 1: Krysten Delaney scored in the second half to help the Titans (5-3, 6-8) capture the victory and a third place finish in the Patroon Conference regular season standings.
The Jesters (6-2, 7-4), who got their goal from Andrea Alverde, finished in a first place tie with Ichabod Crane.

Swimming
Albany Academy 94, Troy 82: Lauren Lohmiller placed first in the 100-meter breakstroke to help lead a trip of Albany Academy swimmer finish first, second and third and take the meet.
Carly Cahill won the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter backstroke for Troy, while Kaitlin Cahill placed first in the 100-meter butterfly and the 200-meter individual medley.
Caysie Capano won both the 200-meter and 500-meter freestyles for Troy.
