Thursday's local roundup, Sept. 23

CAMBRIDGE -- Molly Gilchrist scored 12 minutes into the second half, which was the only goal the Hoosic Valley High School girls soccer team needed in a 1-0 Wasaren League victory over Cambridge Thursday afternoon.
Allie Roberts and Janelle Stannard contributed assists on the goal.
Samantha Carlo made 10 saves in the shutout effort for Hoosic Valley (4-1-0, 6-1-0).
Cheyanne Hall made 10 saves for Cambridge (3-2-0).
Hoosick Falls 1, Tamarac 0: Meg McKee scored on an assist from Alice Hayden as the Panthers (3-1-1, 4-1-2) posted the Wasaren win.
Brandi Warner made 11 stops in goal for the Bengals (2-3-0, 3-4-0).
Schuylerville 7, Granville 3: Courtney Pierce scored three goals for the Black Horses (5-0) in the Wasaren League victory over the Golden Horde (0-5).
Emily Fuller scored two goals for Granville.
Troy 5, Albany 1: Morgan Avery scored three goals and made two assists in the Big 10 Conference victory for the Flying Horses.
Lissi Vink-Lainis and Sarah Bogdan added goals for Troy High.
Maple Hill 6, Catskill 0: Meeghan Arno scored three goals and assisted on another in the Patroon Conference victory for the Wildcats (5-0-0, 5-0-0). Taylor Czajkowski, who also added three assists, Chelsea Mannion and Sierra Legge all added single tallies for Maple Hill.
Elizabeth Briggs made two saves in the shutout effort, while Nichole Paolino made 19 stops for Catskill (3-2-0, 3-2-0).
Chatham 2, Cairo-Durham 0: Cailey Nieto scored one goal and assisted on another for the Panthers in a Patroon Conference victory over the Mustangs.
Shenendehowa 1, Guilderland 0: Kristen Connors scored a goal on an assist from Madeline Mylod in the Suburban Council victory for the Lady Plainsmen.
Niskayuna 2, Bethlehem 1: Meghan Mosch scored on an assist from Meghan Doyle in the 37th minute of the second half to lift the Silver Warriors to a Suburban Council victory.
Burnt Hills 3, Colonie 0: Jess Lyden, Brianne Hadcock and Bryony Striffler scored goals for the Spartans (6-0-0) in a Suburban Council victory over the Garnet Raiders.
Boys Soccer
Catholic Central 2, Schenectady 1: Sydne Rebne and Giacomo Giglio both scored two give the Crusaders (3-1-0, 3-3-0) the Big 10 victory.
Charlie Farrell made eight stops in goal.
Ichabod Crane 3, Mechanicville 0: Seth Scarano, Will Poetzsch and Mitchell Niemeyer scored goals for the Riders in a Colonial Council victory over the Red Raiders.
Caleb Foard made 11 saves for Mechanicville.
Cohoes 4, Fonda-Fultonville 0: Brandon LaForest, Mohammed Rasoully, Kyle Derepentigny and Ibrahim Abdalla scored goals for the Tigers on assists from Joe Sorel, Brandon LaForest and Mohammed Rasoully in the Colonial Council victory over the Braves.
Ryan Laughlin made four saves to preserve the shutout for Cohoes.
Bethlehem 1, Niskayuna 0: Zach Rockmore headed in the game-winning goal off a corner kick and Alex Kessler made four saves in the shutout Suburban Council victory for the Eagles.
Burnt Hills 3, Colonie 0: Bryce Kaller scored two goals and Tom Nocito added one for BH-BL in the Suburban Council victory over the Garnet Raiders.
Ballston Spa 5, Averill Park 0: Dan Bortoloni scored two goals and Kevin Marin, Connor Preece and Andrew Gondek added single tallies for the Scotties in a Suburban Council triumph over the Warriors.
Girls Volleyball
Catholic Central 3, Schenectady 1: Hannah Kutny provided 21 digs and 20 kills for the Lady Crusaders, who won a Big 10 match by scores of 25-19, 25-8, 20-25 and 25-15.
Gena Russo added 29 assists and nine kills for CCHS.
Denia Gaillard paced the Patriots with seven kills and eight blocks.
Maple Hill 3, Catskill 0: The Wildcats posted a Patroon Conference victory by scores of 25-22, 30-28 and 25-14 to improve to 5-0 in the league. Maple Hill is 5-1 overall.
Chatham 3, Hudson 0: The Panthers won a Patroon Conference match by scores of 25-12, 25-6 and 25-21.
Loudonville Christian 3, Waterford 1: Julia Brown dished out 30 assists for the Eagles (2-0, 4-0) in a CHVL victory over the Lady Fordians (2-1, 4-2) by game scores of 25-7, 25-10, 22-25 and 25-15.
Megan Yattaw paced Waterford with four blocks.
Field Hockey
Emma Willard 5, Coxsackie-Athens 0: Catherine Mahoney, Hannah Wilcox, Maxine Kannemeyer, Olivia Gundrum and Corinne Laviana scored goals for the Jesters in a Patroon Conference victory over the Indians.
Coxsackie-Athens (0-3, 0-4) did not manage a single shot on goal against Emma Willard (3-0, 4-1)
Olivia Gundrum , Andrea Alverde, Francesca Gundrum and Maddy Foster provided assists for Emma Willard.
Girls Tennis
Albany Academy 4, Voorheesville 3: Luise Förster, Eliza Meigher, Carrianna Voellm and Natalie Cheung won singles matches for the Bears in a narrow Colonial Council victory over the Blackbirds.
Schalmont 7, Ravena 0: The Sabres posted a Colonial Council sweep over the Indians.
Chatham 7, Hudson 0: The Panthers improved to 7-1 in Patroon Conference action with a victory over the Bluehawks.
Golf
Tamarac 3½, Hoosic Valley 2½: Dan O’Brien shot a 43 to lead the Bengals (6-7) to the upset victory at the Battenkill Country Club.
The Indians (10-4) were led by Kevin White, who fired a 38.
Hoosick Falls 3½, Granville 2½: Josh Reveal shot a round of 48 to clinch a tie-breaker Wasaren League victory for the Panthers at Hoosick Falls Country Club.
James Lynch paced Hoosick Falls with a low round of 45.
Granville’s Matt Bernard and Garrett Brown both posted scores of 44 for the Golden Horde.
Schuylerville 3, Stillwater 2: Schuylerville’s Matt Ricci shot a round of 44 at Saratoga Lake Golf Club, leading the Black Horses to a Wasaren League victory over the Warriors.
Stillwater’s Connor Jones and Roberty Stickney both shot low rounds of 43.

Girls Tennis
Schalmont 6, Albany Academy 1: Carrianna Voellm defeated Schalmont’s Dayna Ryan 6-1, 6-1 for the Bears’ only victory in the Colonial Council loss to Schalmont.
