Connie Mack and Mickey Mantle: Day One Upper New York State tourney roundups
SCHENECTADY -- Zak Hunt pitched a three-hit shutout in the Lansingburgh Royals 7-0 victory over Duanesburg and Dave Russo collected three singles and two RBI in Lansingburgh’s nightcap 7-5 victory over the East Greenbush DevilCats in the first day of the Upper New York State Connie Mack tournament in Central Park.
Dan Bergami hit two singles in the first game and Zak Hunt added a three-run double in the game against the DevilCats.

South Troy Dodgers 5, Maple Shade (N.J.) 0: Tom Carrigan and J.T. Sawyer combined to pitch a two-hit shutout (Carrigan pitched six innings before Sawyer recorded the final three outs) as the South Troy Dodgers advanced in the 14-and-under Sandy Koufax North Atlantic Regional.
Ryan Henchey doubled and singled and Greg Kelley and Tyler Casavant added triples for the Dodgers.
South Troy advanced in the winner’s bracket and will face the Fairfield Owls (Conn.) today at 1 p.m.

Spring Scorpions 7, Clifton Park 3: Bryan Seabury hit a home run and Justin Luther pitched a complete game with six strikeouts to lead the Spring Scorpions to victory in the Cal Ripken state tournament in Wilton.
Kyle Hauser added a home run and two RBI and Baylee Haskin collected three hits and drove in a run for Spring, which continues in the tournament today against Queensbury in Wilton.
District 14 11-and-12-year-old ‘B’ All-Stars
Twin Town Blue 6, Lansingburgh 3: Jon VanVleck hit a home run and added a single to back winning pitcher Collin Fazziola for Twin Town Blue. Sierra Jaeger added a double and a single.
For Lansingburgh, Bret Dolan doubled and singled.
Twin Town Blue plays next against Twin Town Red on Saturday.
East Greenbush/Castleton 13, Watervliet Grey 0: Tommy Miller supplied the offense for East Greenbush with two home runs and six RBI, finishing the evening 3-for-4.
Jason Tompkins earned the victory on the mound, throwing five shutout innings and allowing just one hit.
Cohoes 15, Green Island 5: Gage Blizinski and Jordan West hit home runs for Cohoes in a victory over Green Island.
