HS baseball standings: two weeks to go
(Update: standings updated at 12:01 a.m., May 11)
With just two weeks remaining in the regular season, here are the local high school baseball standings provided by the Section II committee. I know some of these records are wrong, so I will try to update these later tonight with Monday's action when I get to the office. I'll also drop in the latest softball standings as well.
As per Section II rules, teams need to finish with a .500 record in league play to guarantee a postseason berth. Teams that play up in classification have their league wins count doubly. For example, Burnt Hills, a Class A school has a number of wins over Class AA schools, meaning the Spartans have already qualified with seven league wins. The Section II committee also may award at-large berths to teams based on the circumstances.
