Locals shine at New York State Indoor Track and Field Championships

The girls intersectional relay team (pictured above) finished first in both the New York State Public High School League as well as first in the New York State Federation League with a time of 10:23.40, four seconds ahead of the second place team, at Saturday's New York State Indoor Track and Field Championships at Cornell University.
Lansingburgh High School senior Alney Tobias stands on the second place podium for his performance in the 1,000 meter run at Saturday's New York State Indoor Track and Field Championships at Cornell University.
The other finisher from the Troy area was Alney Tobias (Lansingburgh High) in the boys 1000m Run. Tobias finished with a time of 2:32.67. That time was good enough for 2nd place in both the New York State Public High School League and 2nd in the New York State Federation League. Alney was also chosen as Section II's Sportsmanship Award winner for the meet, representing the section during the opening ceremony.

55 meter dash - Madalayne Smith, Saratoga Springs
Her time of 7.11 seconds was good for first place.
300 meter dash - Kyle Plante, South Colonie
Her time of 38.94 was good for first place.
4x800 meter relay - Shenendehowa (Lizzie Predmore, Gina Stalica, Alexandra Burtnick and Danika Simonson)
Time of 9:17.78 was good for first place.
