'Hawk hunting in Lansingburgh

Lansingburgh's Marcus Little (39) looks for open field during Friday's 56-6 victory over Reinfurt Division rival Hudson High. Little also recovered a Hudson fumble, one of six Bluehawk turnovers in the game. (Photos by J.S. Carras - The Record).

The Knights rushed for 398 yards in the victory, bowling over would-be Hudson tacklers all game. Lansingburgh averaged just over 11 yards per carry in the first half and also took care of business on defense.

Lansingburgh's Sajae Pryor catches a touchdown pass in the second quarter of Friday's game. It was one of only three Knights passes and the only one caught for positive yardage.

McLaughlin (7) had perhaps the best game on the ground he'll ever have. The senior quarterback ran the ball twice for a grand total of 42 yards and two touchdowns.

Hudson entered the game 3-0, but the Knights continue to prove themselves to be the class of Class B in 2009.

Their biggest test of all, however, at least in the regular season, comes next Saturday at Albany Academy, who is also likely to be unbeaten after this Saturday's game against a winless Johnstown squad.

"Next week is going to probably be a bit of a challenge, because they’re a good team," Lansingburgh senior Zaquawn Gordon said. "We have to give them credit. We’ll just have to come out with the same intensity we had today."
