You read that right, the South Troy Dodgers have been eliminated on the first day after only being able to score one run in fourteen innings of play.
Colonie, however, rallied to defeat Clinton in the nightcap and the Raiders will play the Long Island Titans at 10 a.m. at Colonie High School on Saturday in a loser's bracket game.

Brooklyn Bonnies starter Sean Nolin stymied the Dodgers bats - he was a 50th round pick of the Milwaukee Brewers in 2008. He will head instead to San Jacinto Junior College near Houston, Texas, which has produced the likes of Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte and former Tri-City ValleyCats pitcher Matt Albers.
Nolin struck out 13 over seven strong innings, his overpowering fastball and devastating curve keeping the South Troy nine off-balance all morning.

Long Island's Ryan Pfaeffle was not as powerful as Nolin, but shut down the Dodgers just the same. The George Mason-bound senior from Commack scattered five hits over six shutout innings.

We will see how Colonie deals with the Titans on Saturday -- it's a win-or-go-home game. Long Island was held to two hits and shutout in their opener against Connecticut at R.P.I before rebounding against South Troy. The Raiders will need a big arm to step up and quiet the Titans' lineup.
