2010 All-State baseball team

This evening, the New York State Sportswriters Association announced the 2010 All-State high school baseball team. To see the complete list, please click here to visit http://www.newyorksportswriters.org

Sports on the budgetary chopping block

The New York State Sportswriters Association has put together a web page listing all of the cuts to athletic programs after 2010 school budget votes around the Empire State.

To view it, click here: http://www.newyorksportswriters.org/reference/budget-2010.shtml

Are there any schools from Section II that they are missing? Please contact the NYSSWA through their website or leave a comment on this post with your source.

In a related note, I learned today that the annual Uncle Sam baseball tournament, an annual Troy event, has been canceled for 2010 because of the NYSPHSAA's schedule cutbacks.

The Uncle Sam softball tournament is still a go. That will take place May 1 in Knickerbacker Park.
