
"Again, the defense makes great stops and we get the ball and move it down the field," Troy coach Jack Burger told The Record's Chris Fitz Gerald. "It's a really a team effort and that the thing I'm most proud of with this group of guys. All these guys have had chances to make contributions - they come out and work hard every day."
The Flying Horses (3-0, 5-0) travel to Bleecker Stadium Friday to take on Bishop Maginn, the only team to defeat Troy in the regular season a year ago. This season's Golden Griffins squad, minus Bunduka Kargbo, now at the University at Buffalo, is a much different group.

The Knights get a week to prepare for their crossover game against West Division opponent Broadalbin-Perth, while Albany Academy has a short week before their special Thursday contest at Cohoes. That Cohoes-Academy game on Alumni Field will kick off at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8 and will go a long way in determining who earns the second home playoff berth behind Lansingburgh in the Reinfurt Division.
