Five Rensselaer County high school football teams earned No. 1 seeds for the Section II postseason tournament, which begins Friday night.
La Salle (5-0, 7-0), the defending Class AA champion, earned the No. 1 seed out of the Liberty Division and hosts Empire Division No. 4 Guilderland (2-3, 3-4) Friday on Sutton Field at 7 p.m.
Troy High (5-0, 7-0), Division I champions, host Glens Falls (2-3, 3-4), the No. 4 seed from Division II, Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on Edward C. Picken Field.
Lansingburgh (4-0, 6-1), the Reinfurt Division champion, will host a rematch against West Division No. 4 seed Broadalbin-Perth (1-3, 3-4) Saturday at 7 p.m. The Patriots handed the Knights their only defeat of the season in Week 6.
Hoosick Falls (6-0, 7-0), the North Division champion in Class C, will host South Division No. 4 seed Canajoharie (4-2, 5-2) on Ken baker Field Friday at 7 p.m.
Rensselaer (6-0, 6-1), the No. 1 seed in Class D, receives a quarterfinal round bye and will host Mechanicville in a crossover game Friday at 7 p.m.

ReplyDeleteThe class C semifinal games are both being played at Stillwater on 10/31. I beleive one game is at 2PM and the other 7PM. I'm assuming the higher seed would be considered the Home team.
