Lansingburgh, which finished in third place in the Colonial Council regular season, is likely to earn the No. 3 overall seed in the Class A tournament and could possibly secure a first round bye - something that hasn't happened in Lansingburgh in quite some time.

"We share the wealth," Casey said. "Whoever is there can take it. Not one person on this team is selfish. We share our goals."

"That is tough to do," said Lansingburgh head coach Ed Classen. "He has come up as a field player and turning into a goalie is a tough transition. He just had the best game all year (a 1-1 tie against Voorheesville Thurs 10/22). He was nervous with a couple of things, but he’s getting more and more confidence in his play."

The Knights finished 6-12 a season ago and earned the No. 12 seed in the Class A playoffs. They, however, defeated No. 5 Ichabod Crane in the opening round.
This year, Lansingburgh opened with losses to South Glens Falls and La Salle - by a combined score of 11-1 - but rebounded with a strong season in Colonial Council play (8-3-3).
"Everyone had their doubts about us because we lost Zach Fane, who was seen as our star player, and they didn’t think we could do anything without him," Wangler said. "Just about every senior on the team believed that because we had an alright season last year as juniors, almost as a full junior squad, and coming back as seniors with almost a full senior squad, was definitely helpful."
