La Salle stays perfect, Wells is unhittable and a brief roundup

The Cadets played come from behind baseball to complete a season series sweep of Troy with a 7-4 win at Geer Field on Friday.

The Flying Horses gave them all they could handle though leading 3-1 after three and bringing the go ahead run to the plate in the seventh before La Salle fire baller Dave Roseboom struck out the side to secure the win.

My guess is you'll here plenty about the Troy team in years to come.

In softball Schuylerville's Mikayla Wells threw her second no-hitter of her young career to lead the Horses to a 4-0 win over Hoosick Falls. The sophomore struck out 11 and walked two in the win.

Softball

Tamarac 3, Cambridge 2: Ashley Okenholt provided a two-run double in the fifth inning to give the Bengals (3-7, 6-11) the runs they would need to win in Wasaren League play. Kara Ryan pitched for Tarmac and earned the victory, while also smacking three singles and driving in a run.
Marissa Furfuro doubled and singled for the Indians.

Troy 21, Albany 4: Shannon Jones homered twice, including delivering a grand slam in the fifth inning, as the first-place Flying Horses cruised to a Big 10 victory.
Sam Rivet and Emily Jones also homered for Troy (7-1, 12-6) against the Falcons.

Baseball

Bethlehem 11, Columbia 1: Mike Fish homered, doubled twice, singled and drove in four runs to power an 18-hit attack by the Eagles in the Suburban Council.
Kyle Niehaus chipped in with four singles and two RBI for Bethlehem (8-2, 12-4).
Nolan Gaige singled three times for the Blue Devils (7-3 league).

Cohoes 22, Albany Academy 1:Ian Pingelski hit a grand slam to lead the Tigers (8-4, 12-4) over the Cadets in Colonial Council action. Pingelski finished four-for-five with six runs batted in. Zach Ramsey went four-for-four and Mike Welcome hit a double and drove in three runs for Cohoes.
Brian McDonald hit a solo home run for Albany Academy (1-12, 1-13).

Niskayuna 6, Colonie 5: John Moore singled with two outs in the seventh inning to lift the Silver Warriors to a Suburban Council triumph. Adrian Mitchell doubled and singled twice for Niskayuna (6-4, 11-4) and Joe Privitera doubled and singled.
Matt Weiman hit two singles for the Garnet Raiders (5-5, 11-6).
