Canzeri travels to Ohio to showcase his talents

Troy High running back Jordan Canzeri played well in a Next Level Football camp event in Steubenville, Ohio recently.

Jordan was voted the running back MVP by the combine coaches, with loads of Division-I talent in attendance.

Another combine will be held in Batavia (Rochester-area) on May 22.

A quick glance at www.Section2Football.com shows that there are a number of local events coming up on the football schedule, including passing camps at Warrensburg and Cohoes, a team camp at Glens Falls and the annual Lineman Challenge.

Still, it's a little bit of a mystery why we have hundreds of former Section II stars playing baseball, softball, soccer and basketball in college and just a handful of football players moving on to the next level.

Why isn't New York State a football hotbed and what can be done to change that?
