Porcelli to Albany High?

Fox 23 News is reporting that Lansingburgh High School football head coach Pete Porcelli is leaving his post in North Troy to take the head varsity job at Albany this fall.

Porcelli was not available for comment Thursday night.

A little birdy did tell me last week that Albany's football coach Brian Spicer was not returning and that a search for a replacement was on, so this news does make sense. Porcelli, a former Albany Firebirds player and assistant coach with the Conquest, has taught physical education at Albany High for 16 years.

Lansingburgh, because of a slight change in enrollment numbers, is sliding down to Class B in 2009 after a few year run in Class A.

(Let's also give Fox a round of applause for stealing an earlier copy of this photo and slapping it on their website with a "courtesy Troy Record" tag.)
