Softball Semifinal Results, Suburban All-Stars

A few upsets on the softball diamond this afternoon.
Colonie toppled Troy 8-1 and will play Shenendehowa in the Class AA final for the second straight season.
Colonie's Kayla Lynch hit a two-run home run in the first inning and recieved a free pass in her next four at bats.
Asked about playing Shen again, Lynch said, "Bring it on. We want to come back - they beat us last year."

Burnt Hills beat Lansingburgh 5-0 to move on to the Class A final against defending state champion South Glens Falls. It's a rematch of the 2007 Class A final.
BH-BL's Katie Filak held the Lady Knights to one hit - a single by Amanda Lupi.

In Class B, we're going to get the long-awaited Cohoes-Hoosic Valley final.

Against Greenville, Cohoes had one hit - a Jen Ahearn home run - but a Steph LaDue line out to short allowed Jessica Dearstyne to score the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
Against Schuylerville, Jen Mineau threw a perfect game, her third of the year. Ho-hum. Just kidding - Friday's final should be one of the best games of the year.
But, the Cohoes bats are going to have to come alive in Friday's contest if they want to move on to the state playoffs again.
